Alaska 2024

My family visited the most remote and rugged state in the United States this year! It was my first time visiting this forest frontier and it was absolutely astounding; the colossal mountains and the eclectic, abundant wildlife made this a trip worth posting about. Getting to experience it with my family made it a trip of my lifetime.

My dad pointed this out to me on our cruise from Seward around Kenai Fjords National Park. The ice was glowing blue in the midday light!
My dad painted a loon either when I was a child or even before I was born. That picture, to this day, hangs in my parent's living room in Maryland. It was incredible to see one in the wild with the whole family present!

Exit Glacier Crevices
I felt lost in the details of this photo while editing it and while it's not an instantly jaw dropping photo, it is one of my favorites for its initial simplicity and subtle complexity.
