About Markham Adventures

Hey everyone!

I'm Cody Markham, a software engineer, backpacker, skier, nature nut and photographer who lives in Broomfield, Colorado. Like most folks who are transplants to this beautiful state, I collect all the outdoor hobbies when I'm not working on code and sipping mochas. These days, you can find me hiking and backpacking in the summer and skiing in the winter, usually with a camera in hand.

My hope for this website is that I can share my love for the outdoors with you via my stories and art. I will be updating my Blog regularly (goal is once every two to three weeks) with retellings and descriptions of my latest adventures. In the event you’d like to support my work, my Shop includes some of my favorite photos; I also accept coffees if you sign up for my newsletter and hit me up in my contact form :D If my art isn’t for you right now, no worries, I would still be THRILLED to hear from you with any comments and questions you may have!

Please check back regularly and feel free to get in touch via my Contact page or on Instagram (follow me there if you haven’t already).

Thanks for stopping by!

-Cody

 FAQs

  • Currently I shoot with a Nikon Z8 body and my primary walk around lens is a 24-120mm f/4 Nikkor. For long range shooting my go to is a 150-600mm Sigma.

  • My backpacking kit has evolved a lot over the years. My latest gear of choice is documented in this blog post. If you have any questions beyond what's included in that post, please get in touch.

  • My photography journey began in earnest in 2020 when I, like much of the world, had a lot of time on my hands to learn a new skill. That said, I distinctly remember messing around with an old film point-and-shoot camera when I was in elementary school so this is something of a life-long interest.

  • My backpacking trips vary from one to nine nights at a time and 12 to 135 miles in length. If that sounds like your cup of tea and you're willing and able to carry your own supplies, shoot me a message! I'm for sure interested in being trail buddies!
